Services: Nutrition services (congregate meals & home delivered meals) - special diets can be arranged, clinics - blood pressure, blood sugar, hearing; annual immunizations, medical equipment loans, health testing by health professionals, exercise, health presentations, client services - advocacy/representation, assessment/eligibility, education/training, escort training, information/referral, letter writing, outreach, recreation, telephoning, visitation, transportation via transit authority, shopping assistance; trained personnel to help you with your income taxes and Medicare claims; provide forms for low income sales tax refunds; Monthly newsletter. Activities: Yearly winter bazaar and spring craft fair, pool, pinochle, cribbage, bridge, bingo, movies, line dancing, musical entertainment, evening dinners, social events, jigsaw puzzle table, large print library, scheduled crafts, scheduled classes.

Services: The Young at Heart Senior Citizen Center is housed in a new beautiful facility located at 2400 ReaganAvenue. Services are provided to those who are 60 years of age or over, or 19 and disabled. Many of the services offered are Congregate meals & Home Delivered meals which cost $4.00per meal. Meals are served at the center from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Every Monday at 6:00 PM an evening meal with a program is held. Home Care Aides with the Community Based In-Home Services Program provide help with cleaning, shopping, meal preparation, etc. The Care giver Program provides assistance and respite to the Caregiver, a caregiver support group, training for the caregiver, and help with finding other avenues of assistance for the caregiver. These are offered on a sliding fee scale. Other programs include Transportation, Outreach, Information and Referral, Health and Fitness programs, Legal Assistance, Telephone Reassurance and many recreation and educational programs. About 250 volunteers give approximately 2500 hours each month to the programs which focus on enabling seniors to remain independent and living in their own home.
Some of the favorite recreational pursuits at the Senior Center are daily pool and cards, crafts, ceramics class, landscape painting, birthday parties, Lucky Buck Day, bingo, exercise and fitness programs bowling and golf league and Young At Heart Band. We offer pedicures, health clinic, blood pressure clinic, and blood sugar clinic. We host monthly diabetic classes. We provide assistance with financial and health information for low income individuals, the sales tax refund program, AARP tax aide program as well as AARP Community Advocacy Team that has sponsored the "Honey-DO" week helping seniors with major cleaning jobs inside and outside and has been instrumental in passing legislation that helps seniors. Sponsors an annual Oktoberfest, New Years Eve and Spring Fling community dances each year.
Also coordinated at the senior center are Training for Experience works employees, Senior Companion Program, Foster Grandparent Program, File of Life Program and Gate Keepers Program. Offered is a Lending Closed and the Appreciation Donation Club.
All seniors are invited to join in the fun "happenings' and the Senior Center!! Open Mon-Fri 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday and Thursday open until 8:00 PM
