Tobacco Cessation Coverage

 Wyoming Medicaid covers smoking and spit tobacco cessation products to help eligible clients quit using tobacco products. Below is a list of products that clients can choose from when trying to quit smoking or chewing. 

 

Bupropion (Zyban® and direct generic equivalents)

< 84 days or 168 tablets in last 365 days

Varenicline (Chantix®):

< 84 days or 168 tablets in last 365 days

Nicotine polacrilex (gum) and lozenge

< 84 days or 735 pieced in last 365 days

Nicotine transdermal patches

Nicotine transdermal patches 21mg

< 42 days or 42 patches

Nicotine transdermal patches 14mg

< 14 days or 14 patches

Nicotine transdermal patches 7mg

< 14 days or 14 patches

Concurrent therapy with buproprion and varenicline is not allowed.

Wyoming Medicaid Recipients, as well as, all Wyoming Residents are encouraged to utilize the services of the Wyoming Quit Tobacco Program. This program offers tobacco cessation medications as well as support services for smokers and spit tobacco users who want to kick the habit.
