MYCOLOGY
Effective November 1, 1992, the mycology services directly available at the Public Health Laboratory have been discontinued.  Pure isolates requiring identification will be forwarded to a reference laboratory.  Please call (307) 777-743l before submitting specimens.  Keep in mind that identification of mycotic organisms could take several weeks to months.

Specimen Requirements
A pure isolate should be submitted on a Sabouraud slant with a bacteriology form. Cultures must be packaged to meet federal postal regulations for infectious substances.
