The Wyoming Department of Health – Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Division (Division) is now accepting Letters of Intent to apply for Tobacco Free Wyoming Communities (TFWC) grants for the Fiscal Year 2009 (July1, 2008 – June 30, 2009). Click Here for complete memorandum.

The TFWC grants are state and federally funded grants focused on eliminating exposure to second hand smoke, preventing initiation of tobacco use among youth and reducing youth tobacco use, reducing tobacco use within an identified disparate population, and promoting cessation among youth and adults.


SAMHSA Accepting Applications for Prevention of Substance Abuse and HIV/AIDS for At-Risk Racial/Ethnic Minority Communities

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is soliciting applications for fiscal year (FY) 2008 funding of cooperative agreements with community based organizations that can provide effective substance abuse and HIV/AIDS prevention services targeted to at-risk minority communities. Click here for more information


SAMHSA Accepting Grant Applications for Expanding the Substance Abuse Treatment Capacity of “Treatment Drug Courts” Across the Nation

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is accepting applications to expand and/or enhance substance abuse treatment services to “problem-solving” courts that use the treatment drug court model in order to provide alcohol and drug treatment, recovery support services supporting substance abuse treatment, screening, assessment, case management, and program coordination to defendants/offenders.  Click Here for more information.

 


 

Applicants Sought for Safe Schools/Healthy Students Program

The U.S. Department of Education's Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools is seeking applications for fiscal year 2007 awards under its Safe Schools/Healthy Students Program.

Eligible applicants are local education agencies and consortiums thereof. To be eligible, applicants must not currently have an active grant under this program.

It is anticipated that 25 grants of up to $750,000 to $2.5 million, depending on the number of students served by the applying agency, may be awarded for a period of up to 48 months.

 The application deadline is June 19, 2007.
